Now that my blathering has gone on long enough, let’s get into the review itself!Īge: Not Stated (believed to be about 4 years) I happened to know it’s also distilled by Buffalo Trace, which has had pretty consistent quality for me thus far across all products. With as much as I hear Eagle Rare selling for $70+ (thanks, taters), I figured the price was right, and I’d just hold onto the extra bottle of Benchmark for… reasons. They were only selling the Eagle Rare bundled, and the price for both was about $42. Turns out, the store was doing a bundle deal where I’d get my bottle of Eagle Rare (which turned out to be a Liquor Barn store pick, for those who care) in addition to the bottle of Benchmark Full Proof. A little curious, but it’s there so whatever. All I wanted was some Eagle Rare, and luckily enough, I found it behind the counter at my local liquor store. Honesty up front: I probably would’ve never tried this on my own, but I’m glad things worked out the way they did. I have the morning off thanks to Super Bowl mania working it’s way into my work culture, so I figured as a relatively new bourbon enjoyer, I’d attempt my first review.
